Lash Care and Application

It may seem easy wearing falsies, however, they do require proper care and the right application techniques. Below is our complete guide on how to apply and care for your lashes!

Application

There are a large variety of lashes available in our collections made to cater to all your desired looks. Whether you’re looking for something subtle and natural, dramatic and bold, or for dressing up in costume, we've got you covered!

Don't be scared to experiment- it can take some practice to WEAR IT right, but practice makes perfect.

Step #1: Curl your natural lashes

To create a shelf for your falsies to sit on, curl your natural lashes and apply mascara which will help support their weight.
If you find that your lashes are already naturally curled then curling is not necessary. Some may find it is easier to place the lashes on without mascara, this is perfectly fine too.

Step #2: Cut the falsies to fit

Cut your false lashes to perfectly fit your eyelid. Place them against your lash line to size them.
PRO TIP: You can divide the lash up into smaller pieces for a customised look!
Another tip is to bend them into a C shape back and forth a few moments to help curve them further into a natural eyelid shape. Application will become much easier doing this.

Note: you may find that some of the lashes don't require resizing, so make sure you place the lashes on your eyelid (without glue) before cutting them to ensure you don't unnecessarily cut them too short!

If you do end up cutting them too short, don't worry! You can always use the lashes for your outer corners as a half lash for a more sassy look!

Step #3: Add your adhesive

Make sure to use our good quality adhesive! You’ll want to trace a very fine line on each of the lash bands with the adhesive. Do not use too much glue as this will cause difficulty in the drying time and aftercare cleaning. Do not apply glue directly to your eyelids either. Wait 20-30sec for the adhesive to become tacky before applying. It’ll stick much quicker this way rather than slipping around on the eyelid and mess up your makeup while glue is still runny.

Step #4: Stick them on!

For better placement and safety, use your fingers to apply your lashes, unless you have better control and find it more comfortable using tweezers. You’ll want to start by placing the lash from the middle or outer corner section of your eyelid first, keeping it as close as possible to the lash line. You can try creating a cat-eye effect by placing the outer section slightly above your natural lash line this further helps droopy eyes seem more awake!

Step: #5 Touch it up

To help blend everything together, you can lightly coat your natural lashes with mascara. Try to avoid applying too much mascara on the falsies as this will add more wear and tear to the lashes and cause more difficulty when cleaning them. You can also take a soft eyeliner brush and press a thin line of black matte eye shadow or liquid liner onto where your lashes meet your eyes to eliminate the visible space between your natural eyelid and the falsies.

Removal

Your false lashes should be removed before beginning your makeup removal routine. You can soften the adhesive with a q-tip or cotton swab soaked in a good quality makeup remover or warm water. Avoid oil based removers on the lashes.

Run your swab on the lash band not the hair follicles. Then, carefully grab the lashes as close to the lash band as possibly by the outer corner and slowly/gently peel the strip away from your real lash. If you feel any pinching or resistance, then apply more makeup remover and wait a little longer before trying again.

Care and Hygiene

It is recommended that you clean your falsies to help keep bacteria away from your eye that could cause redness and agitation. You can also prolong the life of your lashes by cleaning them. We suggest that our lashes are reusable upto 30+ times when these steps are carried out efficiently.

Real mink lashes are delicate and need proper maintenance with care. Real mink hair is fine and not naturally curled, therefore there has been some physical curling and shaping involved in the making of the lashes to achieve the styles (hand crafted). This is especially important to keep in mind as this makes them not waterproof. The use of warm soapy water is not adviced because this will cause the lashes to fall back into their original natural state and tamper with the styles. Think of it this way, taking a shower with straightened hair and watching your hair dry back into its natural state (curly, or wavy etc.) and vice versa.  So please do not submerge lashes into any form of watery/soapy substances! Don’t worry! You can still clean your lashes! Just not the way you see it being done on YouTube. The lashes which are washable are from our synthetic, silk and faux mink ranges which keep their shape when wet.

Step #1: Peel off the glue residue

If you look closely enough, you'll see the remaining strip of adhesive stuck on the base of your falsies. You'll want to peel the remaining off so it’s ready to be re-glued during their next use. It is recommended to peal off the residue straight after you decide to take them off, this prevents the glue drying up on the lash band and will make cleaning them a lot harder! Use your finger tips to remove the glue as you have more control. If you use a tweezer, be gentle as you may accidentally pull at the double weft lash band and destroy the lashes entirely.

Step #2: Makeup Remover

With a dampened q-tip or a clean disposable mascara wand rub up and down at the lash hairs very gently to remove the excess mascara. You can also gently rub at the lash band to soften the lash glue with the same technique. Please be patient when doing this as the harsher you are, the more damage you’ll cause to the hair follicle attachment.

Repeat this step with a clean q-tip if you feel there is more residue that needs to come off. You can use tweezers to peel off the remaining softened glue on the lash band.

Step #3: Let them dry

Check the lashes for any remaining residue, and then set them in a clean place to dry. If you're in a hurry, you can also pat them dry using a paper towel or small face towel. Make sure you place them back into the original packaging once dried or while drying as this helps the lashes keep their band curve.

By keeping your falsies nice and clean, you get more uses out of them in the long run and keep your eyes safe and bacteria-free! If you neglect to clean your lashes, you'll have a hard time reapplying them the next time and soon you'll have false lashes caked in makeup and the buildup will make cleaning them a lot harder.

Now that you know what’s involved in the application, removal, and cleaning process of our lashes, you can see that using them isn't so intimidating. We recommend you give them a try and see for yourselves! Shop the collections now!
